The Ancient Ways—On the Waters of Sorrow

“O My child, I am coming to thee walking upon the waters of the sorrows of thy life; yea, above the sounds of the storm ye shall hear My voice calling thy name…Be not anxious. What seemeth to thee to be at present a difficult situation is all part of My planning, and I am working out the details of circumstances to the end that I may bless thee and reveal Myself to thee in a new way. As I have opened thine eyes to see, so shall I open thine ears to hear, and ye shall come to know Me even as did Moses, yea, in a face-to-face relationship. For I shall remove the veil that separates Me from thee and ye shall know Me as thy dearest friend and as thy truest Comforter.”

Come Away My Beloved by Frances Roberts

It is easy to get depressed and overwhelmed with the many trials of life, especially when they all hit you at the same time. I recently lost my dad, Derek’s dad has been diagnosed with a serious illness, other people in our family have recently overcome a serious illness/surgery, my mom was told she needs to do a stomach cat scan, and friends of the family are dealing with recent losses of friends and their close relatives needing serious surgeries. However, in each of these situations, Yahuweh has used both of us, with the help of His Spirit, to encourage others, strengthen others, witness to others, and speak His Word and bring healing into many lives. He has even restored broken relationships in our lives! He has used these matters for His good purposes as it says in Romans 8:28!

I wouldn’t change anything except maybe having one more moment with my dad, before his mind slipped away about a year and a half ago, to share who I am in Messiah today. These past few months have been like a wilderness…but He has provided us with His Living Water the whole time. Yahuweh and Messiah have shown us how to depend on Them, Praise Them and be thankful for every moment, every test/discipline, and every answered prayer! Through subtle ways, He has shown us that He is always there (even when we don’t “hear” His Voice), guiding us, teaching us, speaking to us through His Spirit, and He will never forsake us!

Hold on to what is important:

  • Immerse yourself in His Word daily, and really get to know Them personally
  • Enjoy and spend time with family and friends…be at peace with all men if possible as it says in Hebrews 12:14, Romans 12:18 and Romans 14:19
  • Witness to everyone He brings to you.

Join us today, praising Father for the gift of life and the choice of salvation. Get your life in order with Father, within yourselves, with your family, and with others. (This is the perfect way to prepare for Passover.)

Life is precious. People are precious. Family is precious. While yet we have our minds, we have the power to forgive, releasing the old memories, and choosing to re-create new ones—in hopes one day, when it is our time to go or Messiah returns, we can also say with confidence, “I’m going Home to my well-watered Garden…to the Gardener of my soul.”

Shalom, joy and love,

Derek and Rivkah
