About

Shalom,

Salvation is a journey! According to Kepha (Peter) in 1 Peter 1:9, the outcome of our faith is the salvation of our souls. The plan of the Creator of the universe is to have a family that He could love and take care of, and one that would love Him back; without pretense. Revelation 22 is the fulfillment of that plan, and those that endure to the end will be part of it.

In the Garden, on the day we stepped out of the image of the One that created us, we literally became a god; the god of self. We exchanged the Creator’s robe of dignity for our own robe of “beauty”, leaving us naked and shamed. For the first time, Elohim (God) saw his creation apart from Himself; a fellowship broken. He missed that fellowship so much that He asked, “Where are you, Adam?”

Elohim will not tolerate any ‘gods’ in His Face, thus we were expelled from His presence, and sent into a world in which we must now be responsible to decide for ourselves what will bring us life – a responsibility we took out of the hands of a loving Father and bore upon ourselves. The simple, life giving family order that was established from eternity past, was lost forever; or so the serpent thought.

The name, Well Trodden Road, was birthed from the meaning of the word/name DEREK. In Hebrew, this means ‘way, road, distance, journey, path, manner, course of life, conversation’. On the day of my dedication to Abba (Father), many years ago, a vision and prophecy went forth. I was seen walking down a dusty road/path with sandals on my feet and a staff in my hand – much like a shepherd. I was to be a leader at an early age. The word spoken over me has come to pass many times over, and is still coming to pass. Though at times, the ‘dust’ along the journey became so great, that I lost my way. However, it is only by His faithfulness and mercy, that I write this today.

My wife Rivkah and I, stand before you today out of gratitude for the One who has lifted our heads high, not out of anything we have done to deserve such favor, but because He alone is worthy of all the esteem. The more He raises our heads, the more our hearts become lowered; lowered in humility and fear from losing His presence (Psalm 51:11).

The very foundation of the ‘house’ called, The Well Trodden Road, is Psalm 115:1,“Not to us, O יהוה, not to us, but to Your Name give esteem, for Your kindness, for Your truth.”

We do not believe that truth is relevant to each person (whatever that person believes is truth to them), but our belief rests upon the Truth that was breathed by the Spirit of Yahuweh and taught by the Same. We do not believe in following the opinions of man, but only what has been Spirit taught by the Author Himself. We only follow the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation – the whole, complete Word of Elohim. His Word is not divided. His Word is not broken up into two “testaments”. We follow the Tanakh (The Torah, Prophets, Writings) and the Messianic Writings. The Tanakh and Messianic Writings are seamless, together as one (echad). The Tanakh (mistakenly called the Old Testament) was not replaced by the Messianic Writings (mistakenly called the New Testament). Messiah Yahushua came not to destroy the old covenant but to renew it in His own blood.

We do not pick and choose what we want to follow and obey. We only do what He says to do; what He says to keep, and to celebrate what He says to celebrate. Obedience is not obedience without action behind it (James [Ya’cob] 2:8). We are not affiliated with any religions of man. Yahuweh (the Father) and Yahushua (the Son) are not a religion, nor did They create it. They are One (echad), yet two distinctive Persons. We can have a personal and real relationship with Them. They stand aloof from all ceremonies of man. He calls out to us to be set-apart as He is set-apart (Leviticus 20:7). Anyone not wholly set-apart unto Him, straight to His plumb line (Amos 7:7), and void of any mixture, will be ejected from His presence [permanently](Revelation 3:16).

Religion has destroyed His people from the beginning, thus He will make an end of every system of man. There are more than 33,000 denominations, affiliations, congregations and organizations out there. Is Elohim divided? If He doesn’t build the house, the laborers labor in vain (Psalm 127:1). A house divided against itself cannot stand (Luke 11:17).

Our desire is to be 100% led by the Spirit of Yahuweh and to daily conform to the image of Messiah in nature, ways and thinking. We desire to be sign posts for others along the journey back Home (Jeremiah 31:21). The only way to know the way back Home is to be a lover of the Truth. II Thessalonians 2:8-12, says that those who do not love the Truth, will be sent a delusion from Yahuweh so strong, that falsehood becomes the ‘truth’ they fall for.

Man, in his religiosity and gnostic way of thinking, departed from the pure and simple Truth that Messiah Yahushua left to His disciples, to grasp hold of another gospel. It is the gospel of tolerance and rejection of anything rooted in the Torah (the good instructions and teachings of Yahuweh).

The enemy hated the truth that Messiah Yahushua left His followers so much, that he devised a plan called religion, to stamp out and to permanently destroy the ancient ways, the good ways, the good instructions, the life giving Torah. Yahushua came to complete the Torah; to fulfill it, expound on it, showing us how to walk and live it out in our lives (Matthew 5:17-18). Yahushua is the Torah. He did not come to do away with the Torah, for to do that, would mean He would have to do away with His own Self.

The enemy would have pulled off his plan if it were not for the ‘few’ who followed the Way and who were lovers of truth, despite religious persecution. They preserved that truth for those of us today who desire to follow in the footsteps of Messiah. We must seek the Truth with the whole heart in order to find it.

Our passion is to see people come out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Light (1 Peter 2:9). Only by the blood of the final Passover Lamb (Yahushua Messiah) and His resurrection, can we have eternal life. He alone is our atonement and way back Home again to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 1:29, Romans 3:20-26).

The Names of the Father and the Son are beautiful and precious. We choose to use and call upon the ancient Name of YHWH (Yahuweh) meaning, (the ever living One who breaths and exists) and Yahushua (Yahuweh is salvation). One cannot separate the Name of the Father and the Son from Their breath, character and nature; attempting to do so, is changing Them into someone They are not (Exodus 20:7). He does not change (Malachi 3:6), nor does His Name change.

Praying a prayer is not an automatic ticket into eternal life with the Master. It sets us upon the narrow path that leads to life. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). The journey to salvation is a walk of complete humility; a recognition of our inabilities and His abilities (Isaiah 66:1-2).

Messiah said, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your beings, for My yoke is gentle and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30).

We were never meant to carry such a responsibility of determining what is best for our lives. It is time to let the Father be a Father and the children be children. Our responsibility is not to decide if walking out into traffic will kill us or not, but to hold onto the Hand of the One who alone knows what will bring us life.

Our prayer is to see others walking about under the smile and favor of the Set-Apart One of Israel. Oh that others might see the reflection of Yahuweh’s presence within us. We want nothing more than to be a sweet smelling fragrance that pleases Him; the fragrance of Messiah (II Corinthians 2:15) that will help strengthen that which remains and is about to die (Revelation 3:2). Our goal is Revelation 14:4-5.

Through this website, we desire to reach many for the Kingdom; for the hour is late. Our main focus is to bring forth the pure, untainted Word of Elohim through our blog, studies, and audio/video messages. We will also communicate our work for the Master on projects that reach out to the poor, orphaned and widowed; caring for those who are brokenhearted; proclaiming liberty for those captive and imprisoned by sin and circumstances, and anointing those who are sick in mind and body – bringing complete wholeness through the all powerful Name of Yahushua (James [Ya’cob] 1:27 and 5:14-15, Isaiah 61:1, Isaiah 1:17, Matthew 25:34-46).

We are on the move for Abba, and are following the Lamb wherever He goes. The nomadic lifestyle has it’s difficulties and challenges, however it is one that is free of complications and clutter. It is a life of living clean and simple, orderly and peaceful.

As a reflection of this lifestyle, we have patterned this website after the same manner. Our desire is that you will be able to find the information useful, without distractions and to have a sense of joy and peace as you browse through it. The background of the website was captured from a trip to Arbel, Israel. It is an image that best describes the prophecy spoken over me many years ago. Arbel is one of our most favorite places to go, sit and read Scripture on Shabbat, while in Israel.

We have chosen to follow the path through the wilderness on our way Home to the promise Land; for only through this journey, are we stripped of everything that weighs us down, causing us to rest in the peaceful order that He established for us. If we allow Him, He uses His rod and His staff to bring us comfort through teaching us discipline. It is His way of leading us, bringing the security and peace in knowing that if we lose our way, He is there to lead us back to the paths of righteousness.

Run the race with endurance, laying aside every sin that entangles us (Hebrews 12:1).

It is not how one starts out on the journey that matters, but how one finishes.

Our trust is in Him alone. We will overcome. We are defended and protected by the Eternal, and the Set-Apart One of Israel is our Elohim.

Pray for Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122). As Israel goes, so goes the world (Zechariah 12:2).

Return to the rest and simplicity of a child. It is the only way to see Him again (Matthew 18:3).

Submit to one another in love; putting others above yourself (Leviticus 19:18, 1 John 4:21).

Justice for the needy! Defend the helpless! Know Elohim! (Jeremiah 22:16)

Fear Yahuweh and keep His Commandments (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).

Return to the ancient ways for they are good ways, and find rest for yourselves (Jeremiah 6:16).

Children of Master Yahuweh, the Father, and servants of His Son, Messiah Yahushua,

Come, Yahushua Come! (Revelation 22:17)

Shalom and joy,

Derek and Rivkah
