Shabbat Shalom,
Chuck Girard’s song “The Days Are Young” from his album Voice of the Wind begins with “You have awakened me and now I rejoice in starting over…”
This song plays over and over in my spirit throughout the day all the time!
Today, I read in Acts how as Sha’ul (Paul) and Barnabah traveled, shared the ‘Good News’ about Messiah, immersed those who believed in water and those who believed were filled with the set-apart Spirit.
Acts 13:52: “And the taught ones were filled with joy and the set-apart Spirit.”
I stopped after this verse and it hit my spirit…why do so many not have this joy, His joy today?
As I continued to read, many things were brought into my spirit and I recalled many examples all through the Word.
During the time of Sha’ul and the early ‘Followers of the Way,’ Jealousy was the main Jezebel spirit that stirred in many leaders because no one was listening to them or giving them all the attention they craved and were used to. So, what did they do? They threw Sha’ul and other followers/witnesses of Messiah out of their assemblies, towns, etc. Sometimes, they had them stoned and left for dead. Often, before they kicked them out or stoned them, they riled up the people with lies and spread rumors about them to invoke the anger of the people.
This same spirit is rampant today….it is still destroying people, crushing their spirits, and prohibiting people from truly being delivered, being free from all that is not of Him so they can hear from Yahuweh and receive His gifts! Whenever jealousy, envy, or even something as simple as being misunderstood or different from others leads to people gossiping and discussing others, this spirit takes over and consumes you. Jealousy, envy, gossiping and more leads to the Jezebel spirit ruling in your life! If that spirit is in you anywhere, it will steal your joy, your time hearing from Abba, and more! You will forever be tormented within yourself and miss completely what Yahuweh and Yahushua has for you…especially Their joy!
When He awakens you and you allow Him to remove all that is not of Him or of His nature, character and ways, He restores the joy and freedom in Him that He originally intended all of us to have ALL the time…the joy, innocence and freedom of being in the garden again!
What is oppressing you, depressing you? Are you spending time in His Word, time listening to praise music and worshipping Him alone…in a quiet place so He can speak to you and fill you with His peace and joy? Are you sharing and witnessing to others with passion and joy that only comes from Him? Are you crying out for Him to take all things not of Him out of you and to fill you with a peace and joy that surpasses all understanding?
Please, listen to the whole Voice of the Wind album…cry out to Him today!! Listen to what He tells you deep in your spirit.
I pray for Him to awaken you, for His peace and joy to fill you, and for you to enter the garden with Him. You will never be freer than when you set yourself apart from everything of this world and cleave to Him…seek Him whole-heartedly. Ask Him to remove all from you that is not of a Him and in its place, restore and fill you with His peace and joy!!
