The Beginning of Elul – A Time of Repentance

Shalom and joy!

So much has happened that we have not been able to keep up with regular posts on our website. It has been a season of learning and discipline, trials and challenges. Nevertheless, He NEVER stops working!

Well, the time of Elul has begun. Today marks day 1 of the 6th Hebrew month. Interesting, last night’s message from Pastor McQueen began with Haggai Chapter 1. She said that the Spirit gave her this a few days ago and yet didn’t realize that last night began the 1st day of Month 6. It is time to ‘consider our ways’ (Haggai 1:5). It is time to be intentional and strategic about what we are doing. It is time to be mindful of what is being done in the flesh and not making excuses for it by stating were operating in the Spirit. It is time to stop cooperating with the flesh and begin cooperating with the calling He has chosen us to fulfill. (2 Peter 1:10). Go back to what He first intended you to be.

We cannot afford to continue to repeat what isn’t working. True sanity is resting on His promises and His Word that cannot lie. IF you know He has promised you something..then why sabotage that promise with murmuring and complaining? We are our worst obstacles. By our patterns of thinking we either open the valve or close the valve to His blessings. Example.. If we are commanded to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us, then after we pray we spend more time bashing and complaining about them..what reward have we? We legally tie the hands of the Judge to make a righteous decision on our behalf because we have already judged them by our unrighteous words. One cannot be judged twice, so let those who persecute us and say evil of us be judged once by the One Who alone can turn our captivity.

We love and appreciate all of you. We hope to be spending more time sharing little posts like this because we have lots to say. Lots of testimonies of Yah’s goodness and lots of wisdom we have gained through decisions that were made without really asking Him about what He thinks. We are all learning and as a body, we must be able to share the good times and the bad ones because to say that everything is always peaceful with good smelling roses would be an alternate truth. This blog has always been and will continue to be transparent and real. I have nothing to give you but truth–and sometimes the truth of the matter isn’t always the best smelling. Thank you for loving and praying for Rivkah and I. We have so much to be thankful for!

In gratitude of heart and deep love for the saints,

Derek and Rivkah
