To See the Truth or Embrace Deception

‘Go to this people and say, “Hearing you shall hear but by no means understand, and seeing you shall see but by no means perceive, for the heart of this people has become thickened, and with their ears they heard heavily, and they have closed their eyes, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn back, and I should heal them.” — Acts 28:26-27 (based upon Isaiah 6)

This was Paul’s response to the Jews of his day when they failed to be persuaded that Yahushua (Jesus) was the Messiah.

How often we fail to see the truth that is right in front of us because we do not want to see it. This was the ‘case’ in the movie The Case for Christ. An innocent man was locked away because a journalist, through his own preconceived ideas, did not want to see the truth that was plainly in sight.

People often choose to see what will agree with what they already perceive is true and not choose to see the plain evidence right in front of them. They align themselves with falsehood because they will not and sometimes cannot see the truth. Why? Because they did not love the truth enough to seek after it with all of their heart as the woman in the parable of the lost coin sought to find what she was missing.

How important is the truth of the Word of Elohim (God) to us and how willing are we to lay down what we perceive is true to find it? Do we only want to see what we want to see because it is easy or do we really want to see what He (God) sees, though it may be hard?

Sometimes the truth is difficult to look at because we only want to see pretty deception rather than ugly truth.

Sometimes we are too blinded to see the evidence stacked in front of us, lest should we see it, we would make decisions based upon fact rather than what we perceive is fact and find the life that our Creator desires us to have. If only we can see the fact that we have sinned and need a Savior, then we might turn to Him and be saved, realizing for once that all of our ditch efforts to save ourselves has gotten us nowhere.

“Open my eyes to see Your truth and to love it, Abba Father, lest I fail to see it and judge You incorrectly and damn myself for all eternity!”

“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order for them to be saved. And for this reason Elohim (God) sends them a working of delusion, for them to believe the falsehood, in order that all should be judged who did not believe the truth, but have delighted in the unrighteousness.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Do you have a love for what Elohim (God) says is true or do you only have a love for what you want to believe is true?
