A Long Journey…

It has been awhile since we have written. We made a promise to Yahuweh before we moved…to record all the miracles He did along the way and to give HIM all the kavod (glory). It has taken us some time to get settled here…not that we are completely settled yet! And it has not been a smooth road, BUT Abba has shown us He is with us every step of the way through the miracles we want to share with you.

Over the next few posts, we will share these miracles as Abba leads! 48 hours before our flight/move…

We had been actively selling everything we could for about 45 days before our move. It was 72 hours before our flight and we still had three major pieces to sell (a leather loveseat, a birch wood dining room set and a queen tempur-pedic mattress set) or we would have to get a storage unit. We prayed before we went to bed, “Abba— please bring us buyers for our last three major pieces so we don’t have to pay for an extra storage unit.”

While we slept, someone on Craigslist emailed us and expressed interest in the leather loveseat. I called her in the morning on the way to work while Derek went to an appointment. Sophia was so sweet on the phone and she and her husband were coming to look at the loveseat around 1 pm.

After I arrived at work, Derek and I spoke on the phone and both felt it would be a good idea to put these three items out on my work email again. Within an hour, a co-worker named Christine, expressed interest in the dining room set and the loveseat. She said her and her husband would come look at them that night. Sophia and her husband were delayed, so they spoke with Derek about arranging a time later in the day to come and view the items for sale. While they were on the phone, he mentioned we also had a tempur-pedic mattress set for sale if she or someone she knew was interested. She told him she would look at it when they came.

When I arrived home from work, Sophia and her husband had arrived and were sitting on the loveseat trying to decide if they wanted just the loveseat or both the loveseat and mattress set. After some conversing back and forth, they decided to buy both! Not only did we find out they were believers, but also found out their son was a missionary in Israel, who knew he was called there from the age of 13. When their son graduated, he went to Israel and has been working there with the homeless for several years now!

In the middle of conversing with Sophia and her husband, Christine called and said she probably couldn’t make it because her husband’s car had broken down and that it would cost more money than expected. I explained that everything was sold except the dining room set and we came down another $100. She told me that she would come look at it if it wasn’t too late. When her and her husband arrived around 7 pm, they loved the set. She then told us that buying this set was a dream come true because her family has never had a dining set big enough to where all of them could eat together. It brought tears to our eyes because we knew we were helping others through this whole process, and at the same time, they were blessing us!

When we went to bed that night, all was sold that needed to sell! Yahuweh and Yahushua are so wonderful, so faithful! It may not happen in your timing and it may not happen the way you think it should or the way you planned…but Their way is always better!

By not selling those big pieces until two days before the flight, we were able to sleep on our bed, all but one night, and have a soft sofa to sit on too! We had forgotten that when we first started selling things, we asked Abba if we could keep our mattress set almost until the end so we wouldn’t have to sleep on the floor or an air mattress.

Yahuweh answered our prayers!!!!!

HalleluYah!

“Therefore I give thanks to You, O יהוה, among nations, And I sing praise to Your Name.”

2 Samuel 22:50

  1. Your story inspires, praise Yah! I am enjoying following your journey. The last time we liquidated, as you are doing, our story was almost the same, except…we had an air mattress and ~ the buyer of our loveseat was a daughter of a holocaust survivor. Her father told her to flee California and head east to Billings because everything that happened “then” was happening “now”. We assured her that what her father said was true and we were able to witness to her. Yah will use our “stuff” if we will only let it go! I am praying for your continued journey, as well as your mom’s. Barbara & Paul of the current circuit/Billings/FL/Panama

  2. You are so precious! Just like little children asking your Abba to help, then being so grateful He did! That is so cute! Love the child like attitude! Keep up the good work it is very encouraging to see child like faith, praise be to our Abba and our Messiah!
